These agencies offer a wide variety of services such as therapies, AAC evaluations, day habilitation, Medicaid Service Coordination, respite and recreational programs.

Advocates Incorporated

Advocates is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) parent-directed organization providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.  As an organization, we were started by parents of children with developmental disabilities with the goal of full inclusion for their children. Our goal is to partner with individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, and the community-at-large to create opportunities for individuals to lead inclusive lives in our community. We provide advocacy, resources, information and choices to empower individuals and their families. There is no charge for any of our services.

ARISE

ARISE is a consumer-controlled, non-profit Independent Living Center (ILC) that promotes the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the community.

Casey's Place

Casey's Place provides short-term, out of home respite services for children with developmental disabilities and children with severe medical issues who qualify for services through the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. In addition to the overnight respite services, Casey's Place provides afterschool care and school vacation programming as well. The house is located at 228 Lafayette Road in the City of Syracuse and provides overnight care for up to 6 children at one time during school breaks, weekends, and summers.

Clinical Associates of the Finger Lakes

Clinical Associates of the Finger Lakes is dedicated to supporting children and their families by bringing together a multi-disciplinary team of clinical and educational specialists to meet each child's evolving needs. Our focus is to provide the best possible family centered educational and clinical services to children and families. 

David's Refuge

David’s Refuge is a non-profit bed and breakfast retreat for parents and guardians who care for children with special needs or life threatening medical conditions. Guests you will enjoy the beauty, hospitality and relaxation of a personally designed retreat in a luxurious bed and breakfast, where meals, recreation, and opportunities for ‘unplugging’ are generously provided.  Our goal is to provide a place of respite from the demands of caring for your children and family so you can be restored, refreshed, and revived.

Enable 

Enable's Speech-Language Pathologists evaluate an individuals' need for augmentative and/or alternative communication solutions.  Speech generating or non-speech generating systems may be recommended based on the individuals' current and future needs.  Reports and all associated paperwork are completed by the evaluating SLP.  Trainings for purchase or rental units can be provided by Enable staff or through the device consultants.  Enable staff help to facilitate the trainings with the consultants and always provide information to contact device technical support teams.  Support for devices purchased as a result of an evaluation at Enable or through other sources is available as well.  This may include additional trainings for new staff, repair requests or ongoing therapy.   

Project TRAID

Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities (TRAID) is a federally funded project administered by the New York State Commission on Quality of Care and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities. In New York, the TRAID dollars have been used to establish regional technology centers that are providing information, borrowing, and referral services for persons with disabilities. It is the intent of the TRAID Centers to improve people's access to assistive technology equipment and services.

Enable, the CP affiliate in Syracuse, has received funding through Project Adapt, an assistive technology lending library, which makes items available for borrowing to persons of all ages. There is no fee to individuals for the TRAID Center services.

Exceptional Family Resources (EFR)

Exceptional Family Resources (EFR) partners with individuals with disabilities and their families, providing services, information, advocacy and other supports to enhance lives and foster community acceptance.

iCircle

iCircle Services is a collaboration of community providers who are working together to help define a path to deliver the most diversified, robust, high quality services to people with developmental disabilities and their families in the Central New York Region. We will work together to help individuals and families to self-direct and advocate for the services they desire and that best fit their needs. Springfield Gardens Loan Library

Springfield Gardens is a multifamily low-income aprtment community with an onsite preschool and after school program. We also offer various enrichment programs for the 300+ families living at Springfield Gardens, as well as the community at large. Many of the children served at our center have mild to severe disabilities, some of which require augmentative communication devices.
